Hello, and welcome to Verlin Gradney's personal page! Verlin Gradney is a Southern California native, born and raised. He graduated from University of California, Riverside with a degree in Business Administration. Immediately after university, he began his career in the securities industry in La Jolla, California with American Express. Then after a successful securities career with GE Capital, Verlin owned and operated his own wealth management firm and a California Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in San Diego County, California. After a 13 year career in the securities and wealth management field, Verlin started his own private finance firms which specialized in venture capital, corporate debt and structured finance. In 2016 Verlin's efforts within the institutional finance culminated into the formation of the holding organization Trade Desk Advisers (TDA). The purpose of TDA was to operate as a management entity which would soon spawn a collection of brands and entities focused on the idea of 'metric and data driven capital raise'. Throughout his career, Verlin found a strong passion for education. And after 2 decades in securities and institutional finance, Verlin decided to take his love for the art of capital raise as well as education and focus his efforts on the early stage startup ecosystem. After a few years of research, Verlin settled upon a blueprint which focused on the primary friction points which exist between early stage Founders (the demand side of the equation) and early stage investors / funds (the supply side of the equation). In 2020 Verlin combined this research into the formation of Mindset Startup Academy, the first free online platform designed to assist early stage Founders in better understanding their target investor audience. Since then, Mindset has interviewed almost 1% of the entire early stage investor community and amassed a membership of nearly 1,000 early stage Founders from around the world. In late 2020, Mindset settled upon its next major brand entitled MindsetXchange. MindsetXchange is the first online educational program which teaches Founders how to better engage with their investor audience. Over the course of a 14 week program, Founders conduct their own mock investor due diligence process and finish with personal introductions to their entire U.S. based investor audience. MindsetXchange in 2021 will complete thousands of investor introductions on behalf of its students, allowing Founders to create and conduct more meaningful engagements with investors who fit their industry focus and stage of business. Verlin brings a unique finance oriented skill set to all of his business ventures, which focuses on creating new and innovative ways for clients and entrepreneurs to meet their financial objectives.
